P0087

Hi I'm after some help i recently purchased a 2010 c200 cdi.
Sometimes when pulling away from a standstill the car will hesitate and bring on the engine light with code p0087 low fuel pressure.
Its been into the garage and had 2 fuel rails fitted and been told the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are ok. Then I was told another code came up.relating to exhaust back pressure.
Then the garage rang again to say they are sending the ecu off for testingas they belive it may be faulty.
Anyone have any ideas.

A proper diagnosis on Star should reduce any expense part swooping. If your injectors are passing excessively then the fuel pressure will drop when you accelerate as the pump can’t provide the correct pressure at that level of flow. Guessing without a full diagnosis. Best take to a Mercedes indie or a a diesel specialist at the very least.

Hi thanks for your reply. The car is with a merc indi for the past few weeks.

They should have checked the injectors then but it may be worth asking them. Cutting on acceleration is a classic sign of excessive injector leakage.

They tell me they have che key the injectors.
The problem doesn't happen all the time and when it does its only from a standstill.
