P0426 Catalyst Temperature Sensor Range/Performance (Bank 1)

Hi all. I Hope you guys can help with this. I am getting an intermittent fault starting the car from cold.

P0426 Catalyst Temperature Sensor Range/Performance (Bank 1)

If I reset it it stays off for a while but ultimately comes back.

From what I have read so far it sounds like and oxygen sensor on the exhaust. Has anyone had experience with this who could provide any advice?

Would appreciate any help you can provide.

Car is a 2009 W204 C220cdi Sport (not Blue Efficiency)

P0426 is either wiring to, or the downstream sensor itself according to my little booklet.

Having said that, I'd look to a MB specialist to confirm before throwing any money at it. It could be something very simple like a loose connection.

Thanks for the response I am going to run it down to my local indy Hope your right I have just put it up for sale Don't want to have to shell out big bucks for anything now Cheers
