Paddle shift

The right paddle shift on my 2008 c220cdi does not operate. Basically it's not pressing or clicking. It's as if it's pressed and can't be depressed? Any ideas

You mean its stuck in? Could be a build up of muck round the edges. Try cleaning it with a cotton bud dampened with IPA.

Must admit the buttons on my steering wheel were rather mucky, looked like a build up of grease and dirt, needed dissolving away. The two small label studs on the front of the wheel were completely obscured by muck ...

Thanks for the info guys, I will check for dirt which may cause this. I hope it is just dirt rather than a broken paddle. Note, I only realised this after buying the car so don't know what happened to it. May even be broken!
