i dont know if this is any help cos mines a 203 but on mine its lak code on driver door pillar

depends on the colour Mercedes colours codes are normally four digits ie
brillant silver 9744 iirc
and artic white is 9147 etc hope that helps

thanks for help found under bonnet on plate. number 702 smoke sliver, but always came up aluminium sliver when i put reg in on sites,

Mercedes did give the same colour different names in different markets e.g. the USA----- the MB colour codes were always the same tho! Smoke silver 702 is a well known UK colour of that era ----silver with a gold/yellow tinge. I,ve never heard of mercedes aluminium silver.
