Can anyone tell me where to find the codes on the vehicle for the paint and upholstery used?

Should be stated on the vehicle data card at the end of your service book and somewhere on the vehicle VIN plate on the front slam panel.

Thanks, I take it the data card will be with the owners handbook?

Should be-it used to be pasted into the back of the service book and a copy was pasted onto the underside of the rear parcel shelf in the boot. Not sure about the location on the latest vehicles/literature.
