In theory - yes. In practice - absolutely not.

A common misconception is that because it looks easy ... surely it shouldn't take much to learn. However, this is definately not the case.

Anyone (no matter what your level of skill) can draw a picture on a piece of paper - some might draw reasonably well but, that doesn't make you an expert artist.

In effect, after the training course, you continue to teach yourself and find your own way - thats why its known in the car body trade as a "black art". After you complete a training course with flying colours (and a very high proportion give up early out of sheer frustration), you're still only on the bottom rung of the ladder in terms of skill and ability. To hone that basic skill needs day in day out physical experience over a period of years. Its that which brings you to a competent level.
