Hi - I have just bought a E270CDi W211 (05 model) with an Audio 20 and prewired telephone. I found an HFP bluetooth cradle on ebay but alas no instructions. The model is a B6787 5877. Does the model have a standard passcode for pairing? I cannot see how to determine one from the setup through the car's system.
The unit has BT ID: B03554 printed on the base label. I tried this on the phone (both Nokia 6230i and HTC Touch Dual) but to no avail.
Does anyone have a set of instructions to hand or experience in such matters? (or even a link to an online manual!). I did Google for same but no results.
I can see MB Phone System and UHI-SN8256 (whatever that is!) on both phones and can pair with neither of them.

Many thanks in advance.

Press and hold down the rear of the cradle until the blue light flashes quickly.

Tell your phone to search for new devices. When it finds MB Phonesystem, select that device on the phone. Enter the pairing code which is 62872. Done.

Uhi-sn8256?

Brilliant- thanks! BTW, do you know what the UHI-SN8256 is and should that be paired as well??

Alfie - You are a STAR (no pun intended).
I struggled with trying to get my Blackberry 8100 Pearl to work and thanks to the info above - it now works perfectly with my car.
#I have a HFP cradle ~ that came with the car with no instructions.
Thanks a million,
Mike

Me too! I've been trying to pair an HP 514 after my old Orange E650 broke. The dealer had set up the E650, so I hadn't seen what they did. I assumed I was supposed to pair with the UHI device. I didn't even know there was a button at the back of the HFP adaptor! And there was me thinking it was something odd about the HP Bluetooth.

Thanks Alfie! Brilliant!

The BT HF profile adapter typically comes with a user manual too. ;)

No problem asking from the forum still.

I was also having a problem activating my nokia 2730 with the blue tooth unit in my 2006 280SLK but the method described and passcode worked perfectly, thanks very much

Connect Problems Bluetooth MB

Brilliant- thanks! BTW, do you know what the UHI-SN8256 is and should that be paired as well??

The UHI-SN8256 should be ignored as a connection on the phone
Here is a link to instruction Manual for HFP Cradle, I'm sure you will find relevant info on their site.

The connection you are looking for comes up as "MB PHONESYSTEM" This is the one you need to add the code 62872 to accept on COMAND and PHONE acceptance.
If this looses connection afterwards, Hold down the button on the cradle with your left hand, do a device search on your phone with your right hand and accept with code above on your phone.
Good luck

Hi,

I hope you guys could help. I have bought a SLK 350 on a 55 plate and it comes with the pre wiring and COMAND. I am struggling to connect my phone through the COMAND system, it just says INSERT PHONE. I have noticed in the compartment space in between seats what looks like a cradle but it does not fit my iphone - do I need to buy something to connect it? Also noticed that the bluetooth on the COMAND connects to my phone then disconnects straight away - do I need something else to use bluetooth via my phone. All I am looking to do is connect it all up so I can make calls through the COMAND system but I am at a lost cause. Please please can somebody help me here,

Thanks
Adam

Hi. I recently purchased Bluetooth cradle b6 787 5877 which thanks to this thread managed to pair with my iPhone no problem at all. Address book loaded and could make call through steering wheel controls and sound came through car speakers. However the next time I came to use it a week later the sound would not come through the stereos speakers but was just faint sound from the actual command unit. Any ideas as to how to get the sound back. People on the other end of call can hear me fine so guessing car microphone working.

alfi thanks for this information it worked great but my contacts will not go across to the car from the phone which is a nokia x6 do you know how to do this
thank you very much

Alfie, I have just sent you an email but I have exactly the same problem but wit a Model B6 787 6168.

I took delivery of a 2007 ML 280 Edition S yesterday and it came with the above but there is no paperwork on it and the dealer does not have password. Are you able to guide me with a password please?

Hi all

I'm really struggling to get my Sony Xperia z1 to pair with the Mb sap v2 cradle and audio 20. I have the manual and the original audio 20 manual, and I can get the audio 20 to find the phone, but I just cannot get them to pair up.

So far, I've tried the following: insert cradle into UHI, press button until flashes, then wait until "bluetooth" shows on audio 20 display, turn on BT on my phone and can see Mb phone appear as a device, then, according to the manual, I need to press confirm (which I assume is the call button on the audio 20) when my phone is displayed which will reveal a 16 digit code. I am then meant to have 20 secs to input that into my phone. However, everything I press thecall button it does show a 16 digit code, but i do not get any time (eg. 5 secs) to input the code on the phone before I get the "duh duh" sound and then "no phone" appears on the display.

I have spent about 5 hours doing this by trying various methods and it will just not pair. But the phone and the unit can see each other.

Please can anyone (maybe Alfie?!) help?

Thanks

It's possible that your phone isn't compatible? You don't give details of your car either, which may make a difference, as there are two different systems used in Mercs. I know very little about these things, but these details will help those who know more. Model and year? I do appreciate that you have probably checked these things.

However in the manual (Copy below) the instructions for Audio 20, starting at #17 don't make it clear on which button on the wheel you need to press to 'confirm'. Have you tried pressing the + button on the wheel to 'confirm'? (Just an idea, a shot in the dark).

P.S. Hello and welcome.
