Pairing bluetooth phone

Just purchased an ml 280 2007 cant pair my phone to stereo there is a phone holder in glove box any help appreciated

Does the car even detect your phone (or vice versa?)

A car of that era needed, I think, a Viseeo unit. On my B Class it was situated under the central arm rest in a sliding box. Not sure if your car needs one, but bluetooth wont work without it if it does.

Mine is a 2007, but a C class, bluetooth is fine on mine.
