We've just bought a new 26" Panasonic flat panel. It's brilliant except for the remote control. Horrible thing to work. Toblerone shaped with the important buttons at the wrong end.

So..........

Does anyone know if a previous Pana model remote (say from a crt telly) will work with the latest sets? I'm not fussed about the 'red button' or all the Viera capability. The sad thing is; I chucked one out with the outgoing set. Anyone got one spare kicking around please?

I have a Panasonic plasma and hdd recorder. The remote for the latter is a bit naff compared to the one for the plasma.

Like me (with all the other A/V kit in the house), you may like to consider buying a sleek all-in-one remote from Logitech.

They're a bit pricey, but their Harmony remotes will control almost anything (but they're most expensive on the Logitech website).

This is quite cheap at only £7.50:
