I was hoping to drive via Paris this year on my annual euro road trip.

Car isn’t eligible for a crit’air sticker, so technically cannot be driven in the ‘ulez’ zones.

I assume if I drive in anyways, it’ll be up to the individual police officer who may see me to decide whether they’ll stop me and fine me/ask me to leave or not?

Anyone have any experience?

Surely some visitors still drive their classics into the center?

I’ve asked my Parisian friends for comment, but most of them are non car owners 😂

There were plans to introduce roadside cameras to enforce this but I believe that they have been postponed!

Enforcement seems to be down to the local police with on the spot fines of €68 and upwards. You can be fined multiple times.

My pal in Paris says as long as I come on the weekend, should be ok.
Hopefully he’s right!

About two years ago we did drive into Freiburg, Germany without any clean air stickers and we were fine. When I rang them, they said they don’t have anpr and to basically not expect any fine!

I drove in to Paris in my 1994 Mustang in October 2023. No Crit Air available for it as it was 29 years old then.

But, as already said, it's up to the individual Police if they stop you and check - I was in the centre of the City on a Friday and all good - even parked the car on a couple of streets with no issues.

Crit Air doesn't run at the weekend so that would be fine.

Apparently there's supposed to be an exemption for cars over 30 as they are viewed as classics. Time to take the Mustang again as it celebrates it's 31st Birthday this year!

Apparently petrol cars over 30 years old are exempt from the obligation to have a Crit'air sticker . . .
On condition that the 'carte grise' has the mention 'voiture de collection'.

Yup! Unforts can’t apply for carte gris as a tourist/visitor.

I guess I’ll take my chances on the weekend then…
