Park assist red LEDs have randomly started coming on with warning tone. No amber LEDs, only for a couple of seconds at a time and only occasionally. I'm guessing something somewhere is playing up ( highly technical analysis) and will be taking it in but in the meantime..... ? ( In the middle of a 1000 mile round trip.)
Other than that it appears to be working fine. Little worried in case it stops working fine as I use it every time I park. Tempted to turn it off as it can be a little disconcerting but again, will probably forget it's off and wait for LEDs/beep while parking!!
Cheers

My w205 c300h 2017 will also do the same.

I put it down to one of the sensors detecting something low down that I can't see as they can be very sensitive.

Usually a bad sensor. Star should be able to defect which one is defective.

Ok, great, thanks for that. Suitably reassured until I can get it in.
Do love parking assist, certainly beats the old fashioned full contact parking I used to use ;)

If you have recently tried the full contact parking method (for old time’s sake) then thy could account for a sensor becoming defective.

Haha - no, haven't used it since I started buying cars with parking sensors. Funnily enough last time was about 20 years ago in the bosses Merc co.car. He told me he was having the rear bumper replaced when we swapped cars back - he'd borrowed my people carrier to take fam on continental hol. - turns out he was only due to have a minor touch up job but DID have a bumper swap after me spending a fortnight engaging in full contact parking - wasn't impressed for some reason :D

Strangely enough the original problem only occured once on the second half of the journey. I'd washed it the day before the journey, maybe just got a bit of damp/moisture in there.....

Did you pick up any debris on the front number during your trip? On my last car, the system played up once and it was a fly stuck on the bumper next to a sensor and, as it moved in the breeze, it caused an alarm.

That could be it, or maybe a direct impact from the jet wash spray (upon the sensor). See if it improves over the coming days, if not then get it on STAR to find out which sensor is faulty.

It happens from time to time on my W219. Always LH side. Mostly after washing or heavy rain. All OK after it dries out so I live with it. Never happens with rears.

I've had this a couple of times in my W212.
Randomly going off when sitting at lights with nothing around me!
