Parking braje woes on two vehicles

Ladies and gents, having a couple of minor issues with my vehicles:
W212: manual parking break feels almost impossible to release, it needs a lot of attempts and sometimes moving the handle upwards or downwards.
C216: failed MOT because electronic brake puts no effort in rear wheels. Also noticed that it doesn't automatically come up when I turn of the car. Pressing the button applies it. Indie said removing the keyless go button and inserting the key works just fine and they passed it. There are no fault codes in the system at all, indie suspects it is condensation.

On the W212 just hook your foot under the pedal and assist it to come off, You'll find many post about these brakes, even mine does it. it'll get better when the weather warms up and you'll forget all about it, till next winter..
