Parking guidance

Once you come to a stop and the arrow is displayed you have to press ok to start it off. The first thing you have to do us reverse straight back until it beeps. Then stop. Then turn the wheel until it beeps. Hold and move back until it beeps again, and stop. Then move the wheel as shown again until beep. Hold and move back until beep.

It is very accurate but I agree a real faff. At the end of the day, I believe that if you can't park it yourself, don't drive it. I tried it out once to see what it was all about. Not used it again.

I've just ordered the e220 sports coupe as a company car (to replace my audi a5) as it seems to come with all the extras i would normally have as standard. I have the non-comand version of the satnav (as it was free) so I'm curious about the 'standard' parking assist feature (parktronic with advanced parking guidance). In all the other cars I tried (audi/bmw/etc) you got a picture of the car on the display and the sensors highlight the area of the car that gets close to hitting something and beeps etc. On the e-clas there seems to be a set of led's on the dashboard and on the rear roof which tries to do a similar job but its just really bad compared to a picture on the display. Maybe its just me but I expected better on a 36k mercedes, especially when compared to the competition. I'm now wishing i had ordered the 'reversing camera' option but that seemed to only come with the high-end satnav so too expensive really.
Other than that the car is great and I'm looking forward to receiving it in May.
