anyone recommend aftermarket parking sensor kit that's easy to fit?

cheers

i will look at the shape of the sensor itself as most of them look naff, i mounted the display on the rear parcelshelf since i will be looking though rear view mirrior anyway while reversing. this way you save a lot of work routing the display cable though to the front of car

yes we fit a few every month..

They are good.. probably a little less reliable than proper drilled ones but that said we have not had one complaint yet.

that's good to know. how much are typical fiiting costs?

well we fit them ourselves.. its a good half days work.. removing the bumper and dismantling it down to the plastic lining is the tricky part.. rest is easy.

I fitted mine to my ML, just went for two (work a treat) as good as cars that I have had with 6.

Took around 3 hrs

cost £30 off flea bay

I have just fitted these. PARKING REVERSING REAR SENSORS KIT FOUR SENSOR KIT on eBay, also Reversing Sensors, Security Electrical, Car Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 02-Jul-09 08:35:14 BST) Took me about an hour. I removed the bumper, measured, drillled routed cables through bumper put cables through an unused gromit into the boot and connected the four sensor wires to the control box. Then all you have to do is find somewhere to stick the buzzer then wire the unit into the reverse light wiring. I found that when it gives a constant tone the car is approx 6 inches away from any objects.

I used to fit the kits for Halfords, actually a very good system as its all adjustable but the little box of electrics is susceptible to vibration so make sure you mount it on some foam.

That is cheap, the sensors blend in nice on your bumper. did you spray them or i they the standard silver ones on the link?

anyone tried to fit an after market park system and fudging it to display on an oem MB parktronic display?

Same as my kit

As above pics it works a treat. It has only failed to work once when I left the car on the drive and it was -6, the moisture had frozen over the sensors. Worked fine once I had got to work and has done since.

For a few quid worth every penny. I can park my bus easier than the wifes A class.
