My brother brought a set of parking sensors from maplins which he got very cheap. I think they where around £45 but are on promotion now and got a futher discount picking them up for £18! they are by a brand called Nikkai and have 4 rear sensors with a display unit for up front.

4 Sensor Wired Reversing Kit : InCar Reversing Kits : Maplin

My question is has anyone used these or heard or know of any reviews about these sensors, are they any good or are they all the same.

I dont have any on the wagon so was thinking maybe i can get them fitted, will make parking abit more safer.

I fitted similar (they're probably all made by the same people) to my old W204 and they worked very well.

Thanks, i was planning on fitting these my self but too scared to make the holes in the bumper and im not too familier with car electrics, is there anybody on this forum who can help out or do this kinda thing?

Hello I fitted a two sensor kit with display off e-bay to my ML.

No need for 4 holes in my book as they worked a treat. In the ML I drilled where the 'flaps' for the spare wheel carrier would have been as like you I dodn't fancy drilling the bumber.

Easy to fit though, find a good earth and the reversing light / power and cable up.

wow thoses look nice in silver too. but I already have a set its just finding someone who can fit them for me - ANY OFFERS out there????

Hello

Mine came colour codes silver and match almost perfectly, however you could try this company??

No idea I just did a google?

WeCanFit.co.uk - In Car Installation
Thanks!

Ive been hunting for a reasonably priced fitter to fit sensors to my ML rear bumper but only found ridiculour prices around of anywhere from £150 upwards! £59.99 plus the price of the sensors (assume I would have to provide the kit) is more than reasonable IMHO.
:bannana:

The last set of these i fitted to my golf were made by Laserline
made in italy to a very high standard
I can certainly recommend them and their installation help

Has anyone used this company now to give feedback?

I have an ML - not sure what the configuration will be or what kit I should buy tbh...

Has anyone fitted these or any other sensors to an ML please? We Can Fit are happy to have a crack at doing it, but tbh they didnt sound too convincing when i asked about fitting them to an ML? My concern is around whether they will have to remove the bumper or not...as they arent keen on removing bumpers...

Im looking to fit the 4 sensor type...

my mate has the parking dynamics sensors on his old ml... work fine last i heard. (see the link in my post above or google parking dynamics)

Parking dynamics sensors looks fantastic :D !
I'm ordering a set for my ML!

They are good mate.
Have a good think about positioning them though;
Example-
You don't want to wrap them around the bumper too much because then it'll give off the warning when reversing past adjoining vehicles

You don't want too much of an angle as you don't want it to reflect off the ground and give false readings

Also, they recommend drilling a single hole to pass the wiring through, I just used the AC duct hole already there on the left rear ( you'll see it when the bumper comes off)

If you fancy you can even pay a bit more and one o their specialist fitters will cone to you and fit/ calibrate it for you...

^ I fitted a set to my ML and they worked great in the three year I owned it. I decided a two sensor kit would be fine and then decided to fit them in the 'flaps' that the spare wheel adaptor would be connected to.

Kit cost £30 off e-bay coloured silver and matched very well. Display inside looked almost oem.
