Hellooo

I'm looking to spend my remap money on the Parrot 3000 Evolution & MULTICAN now I have found out it is not as benafitial as I thought

From what I've seen on Parrots website it all looks pretty good, bluetooth and I can use the steering controls so it will look OEM but at a fraction of the cost!

Has anyone used this system or the 3000 on its own? Whats it like sounds wise? Is it anygood?

Any info is welcomed!

Thanx
Mike

I have a 3100 and I can't fault it, excellent sound and useability.

Just a warning though, what year is your 203, the Multican only works I believe on 2004 onwards, with the MOST based electronics.

I recently fitted a Parrot 3100 plus multican into my 2003 W203 (D2B). Steering wheel controls worked fine for the Parrot although the instrument cluster isn't aware of the handsfree installation.

I have a facelift 2004 so I think it should be ok :)

Did you fit the kits yourself or have them fitted?

How do you find the number you want to call using the steering controls?

Thanx again for the replies! Nice to know people have had success with it!

I fitted mine myself, very straightforward.

As for the steering controls I dont have them so can't help I am afraid.:)

gbjeppm thanx for the reply :) Did you connect the auto mute and so on? So does the unit just remotely control the phone meaning its necessary to have the phone screen visible?

Thanx!

Yes, just plugged straight in on my CLK. (old though, so no additional harness needed)

If you look here, look up your car, it will tell you if you need an additional loom. If you get the right loom the auto mute should be connected by default.

Mine is in the ashtray, but has a screen so I don't need to see the phone.:)

Thanx again for the reply! Handy that it was just plug and play!! Looking at the list I don't know which I have, fibre optic or active audio or neither? I have 2004 facelift with Audio 20.

So the 3100 lets you see phone book then? Might be worth getting that instead :)

I would think that you have Fibre thats the D2B/MOST system. Active Audio would be if you have the Bose or Harman Kardon upgrade with fibre optic amp most probably.

Might be worth a call to Parrot.

I rate the 3100, I can leave the phone in my pocket and do everything from the small display on the unit.

I think I will go and have a look at them in action but the 3100 does sound a bit better with the LCD!

Thanx for all your help!!

I fitted it myself which took about 6 hours or so. Nothing complicated just a question of getting everything just so.

My steering wheel controls allow me to answer incoming calls and adjust the volume - The Parrot 3100 has voice recognition so its simply a matter of 'picking-up' the mobile from the steering wheel control and then saying the name of who ever you want to call from the address book that you load into the Parrot.

I have a parrot 3000 in my car and i cant fault it. Sound is clear and loud through the speakes and when i have asked people how i sound they can hear me clearly too.....

Only thing i asked the garage to do was to mount the Microphone near the rear view mirror so its away from the windows to reduce noise interference from the wind when travelling at speeds and if you have the windows down.

The 3100 is the most advanced hands-free car kit on the market, and with it you can place and receive calls without ever touching your mobile phone. (Absolutely True). The wireless connection between the CK3100 and the Bluetooth phone and its voice recognition system is enabled as long as my phone is switched on.

The display of the 3100 LCD provides information such as caller ID, carrier signal strength, or last calls received. It also automatically attenuates the radio /CD when in use, or for incoming calls. Moreover it works with total clarity even with the roof down, I'm well impressed.

As a footnote, steer clear of the 3200LS-Color as the display is unreliable, according to our local agent that is, who fitted the 3100 to both my my car and my brothers. If you have a Bose system you are looking at £260 fitted. £160 if not. Oh and it took the agent about 1.5 hours to fit.

Thanx for all the info :)

I'm going to pop and have a look at the 3000 and 3100 tomorrow afternoon and see how much they want to fit it.

Im glad everyone seems happy with theres! I had thought mounting the mic by the mirror would probably be the best location too :)

Thanx again!!!
