Anyone done the above installation themselves? Seems to be a dearth of installers right now where I live and I was wondering whether it could be a DIY job.

Anyone got recommendations as to where to place the "blue box" in this vehicle?

Just been quoted £60 for installation, so the incentive to do it myself is even greater! :D

£60 a bargain not worth the hassle of pulling the car apart yourself and they are insured if anything goes wrong.

I have fitted these kits a few times now and I always put the blue box in behind the raido and push it down into the back of the dash , make sure to wrap some faom round it frist the help protect it .

Should be very straightforward on a 202, although you might need a loom adapter.

You should have 12v switched and permanent on the loom, no need to even tap the cigar lighter.

I was thinking that would be about the only place it could go. Where do you run the cable for the screen from there?

That would depend where you wanted to mount the screen . When I fitted one to a 203 I fitted the screen into the compartment under the raido . On a 202 I think I would try to get the phone mounting bracket from MB and mount it on to this , or use the compartment under the raido and just leave the door open to view the screen . It is also worth getting some better double sided tape as the stuf that comes with the kit is rubbish

Mine is in the Ashtray

Amazing what you can do with a Saturday morning! I toyed with the ashtray but removing the tray itself seemed to be another mission so at least for now I've opted for the space just above. Yes, it means that space is effectively dead but I wasn't really using it for anything anyway.

This installation took me under two hours and given I was quoted £60 and £100 for professional installation I'm glad I opted to have a go. Working perfectly. :bannana:Just for info, no loom was required - the wiring fitted perfectly.
