Hi - newbie questions. When I was a Beemer owner, I used to use realoem.com to look up part numbers for my car by entering it's VIN. Is there an equivalent for Mercs'? I've seen some posters refer to: Search for parts. Buying auto parts around the world. Auto parts catalogs., is it the best one?

Also, is there a receommended site/manual for doing repairs, recommended torque settings etc? Hanes Manual I guess, but curious if there are other places I should look?

My car is a W204, C280, thanks.

You tube.

Id only ever use torque settings on a cylinder head. Everything i do is done up tight. Lads on here will give you the settings though when you come to do jobs. Via WIS pages.

If you are keen to do repairs yourself, I recommend to purchase a star diagnose. There you will get workshop documents (WIS) and part catalogue (EPC), plus diagnosing is accurate without hassle of general fault code translations.
