parts advice

Hi All

Have just taken delivery of two new front suspension top mounts for my W124 e280. They are made by Vaico despite being told they would be Meyle HD mounts delivered. They look pretty cheap but I don't mind what they look like if they are going to last! Anyone know about this manufacturer?

Mounts were £40 or so each from MB so searched around and found Mayle HD at £22 each so went ahead, only to be delivered Vaico. Send them back or fit them and be done? Any advice gratefully received.

Don't need to fit them til after Christmas so there is no-rush...

I would send them back , Gen Mb, Boge, Febi, Meyle, etc is what id be fitting

The MB ones lasted quite well? I'd be fitting the same again..

Good point. I hope the replacements last another 225000 miles!

I buy MB parts as a rule but I wonder if with these mounts it is the case of twice the price, twice as good? I guess we pay for that nice warm MB peace of mind.

Meyle is not a brand i would use for suspension parts.

Send back to supplier, buy genuine and do the job once. Saves a lot of time and trouble in the long run.

You have all got your own thoughts about these other parts .I have used most of them with no problems as yet .Its not a big job to replace these mounts , so just see how it goes .
