Perhaps that was an earlier car, a Mk 1? Mine is a 1965 Mk 2.

I think it was a 1963 car. Reg 1212 CR. Before that he had a 6/99 Reg 486 EOW.

The earlier 6/99s had a 3-speed and overdrive, but not sure if this carried into the 6/110s or not. The 6/99 boxes, I think were made by Porche and I remember being in one that lost the forward gears in the depths of Lanarkshire. We reversed all the way home to Airdrie...happy days!!
