Having used Plus Gas and WD40 over many years, I wonder what other forum users recommend as the "best" penetrating oil.

I know that WD40 is not primarily a penetrating oil, but it does work for many common applications.
Also, my Dad used to be the European Distribution Manager for WD40 when it first came to this country from the USA.
It really hurt when he retired and I had to start buying a can.
:(

What are your recommendations ?

You should have stocked up before he left?

I've used the one in Bill's link above, seems to work quite well :)

Hi All

Had a new product introduced to our work today.
Novatech G7.
The rep was doing a training session with our counter staff when I overheard in talk about the stuff.
Apparently it freezes the bolt enough for the penetrating oil go get in.
The formula attacks rust so it frees the bolt easier.
It is supposed to be brill on other things to.
Sounds like snake oil to me but I will give it a try when nobody is about.
So don't buy the can on the top left in the shop as it has been used a bit lol:)

We use this stuff at work and it's brilliant:

Triflow Industrial Lubrication with PTFE

Not cheap; £20 for a 500ml can but a little goes a long, long way. I was impressed enough to shell out for my own can for home, and I'm tighter than two coats of paint.

Not an easy product to get hold of, however, but try checking out "engineering supplies" in your local area.

Cheers,

Gaz
