Not sure if this seems to be the same nationwide, but around here the petrol prices seem to have crept up, while diesel seems to have stayed roughly the same.

A few months ago it was up to about 10p difference, while it seemed to have got to about 6p recently, and in Canterbury yesterday, I drove past an Esso that was 96.9 for Petrol, yet only 99.9 for Diesel!!

Only 3p difference... and I don't think it's been that close since we got this Diesel car instead of a Petrol!!

they haven't got the balls to put the price of diesel because of the haulage and truck people, they are screwing us petrol drivers instead. Not good...

My local station (an Esso) has diesel currently at 98.9 and unleaded at 101.9. First time I've seen diesel cheaper than unleaded in the UK!

Lets hope this is the way its going to be from now on:rock:

Supply and demand, diesel is always cheaper in summer, as the North American demand for heating oil drops in summer. Come October, it will be up again.

Our news tell that the relative price gain diesel has obtained recently is mostly from the downturn of the economy. Trucks or lorries are transporting a lot less goods and a lot less diesel fuel is needed. After all, the consumption of diesel fuel by big vehicles is a lot more important than that of the small cars most of us have.
