Yup we've had one dog in the R129, roof down :)

And a cat with the roof up.

One wiffy old spaniel. He loves the front passenger footwell or a cosy nest on the back seat of the CLS55. V8 rumble has him asleep in no time.

I've always made do where the mutt is concerned, always owned saloons or coupes but considering a SUV for camping and soggy dog......

We have a house (and field) full!
Our lives revolve around our animals yet amazingly none of them have influenced the car's we have bought.
Our old lab - Merlin is too old to travel now, the 3 cats wouldn't lower themselves to even sit on a car (even if they are gorgeous CLKs!) And perhaps we should have bought a ML to pull our 2 Friesian horses! IMG_20190220_203122.jpg IMG_20190220_203013.jpg IMG_20190220_202810.jpg IMG_20190220_202912.jpg

I've had two, sometimes three, dogs more or less for the last thirty years, most of them Old English Sheepdogs, so my car has always been either an estate or a big hatchback.

Last dog we had - English Setter - was about 25 years ago. Didn’t affect vehicle choice. But the dog loved to sit on the rear seat with it's shoulders wedged between the front seats.
At the time we had a Volvo 440 turbo with leather seats. My mother (since passed) made a tailored blanket for the back seats so the dogs claws didn’t damage the leather.

SWMBO wants another dog but it’s not entirely practical with work at the moment. She wants a jack russel or a dachshund. I have no time for a small dog so trying to steer her towards something like a springer spaniel.

Yeah, the boy is a pedigree and the girl is a rescue. Both coming up to 11 now.
Look fabulous for 11.:)
My lad is a rescue, took him in at 11 months old he's 2 now, still growing & 13 stone of big soppiness, there's something so satisfying about taking in a rescue & watching them change over time. Our little one, we bought from a breeder, she's just turned 1 & is as mad as a box of frogs.;)

My wife does holiday dog sitting, visitors look at the SL in the drive oddly until I point out we walk the dogs to our local Country Park, no dogs allowed in the car!

Here are a few regulars
