Ph buying guide: Porsche 911 turbo (996)

And in my experience the most stunning limits are those of the Turbo ;)

But with a 4wd you sort of expect the grip levels, but the C2S 997 just keeps gripping and gripping at speeds you think 'this should be flying off the track!!'

The thing for me with turbos is you have power pretty much on tap all the time, 4th gear doing 60mph, bury the throttle and it still goes, however with the NA cars you have to make sure you're in the sweet spot, right gear and right revs, for me that is more rewarding, and is what I would be buying a 911 for.

Don't get me wrong I love them all, but it would be a 997 C2S for me or a GT3 if it was purely a second car for fundays and Sundays.

After doing a track day in my little old 944 with PCGB I, in a way, found it isn't "the car" but the driver, the day, the circumstances.

Love fine cuisine .. love fish n chips or a kebab.

Love Champagne .. and a pint.

So .... on the right day ... a 911 that YOU want will feel great!! Ignore other peoples tick boxes.

I agree that a 2 wheel drive car might give you that hanging on in there buzz more than a 4 wheel drive car.

A GT2 or 3 .. Turbo ... wellllllllll .........!!!

I got tired of mine on todays roads. Blistering acceleration and handling. The problem is other road users get annoying.

A 5am "drive" in the lanes around the cotswolds is fantastic but .............

Just looking at the lines as you walk up to it is great.
