Well done. Too many cars just end up getting parts swapped when a repair can be appropriate and better for the wallet.
 
How did you lose the edge, as the masking tape must have left a ridge where the new paint finished, I presume you then flatted down with 1000 or finer then applied the clear laquer over a wider area

You're spot on, I was using 1000, 2000 and 2500, even used a bit of cutting compound but that may have been a bit over the top. I kinda regret not masking a larger area and then just spraying what was needed in the middle if that makes sense to reduce the need for the flattening step.

Thanks everyone for the positivity. I know what you mean about cars being scrapped/parts being swapped. My MG was an insurance write off when someone rolled into it due to a crack in the bumper.
