Now have my E320 cdi
hi wondering if any of you could tell me about a phone set up thats in a 2001 e320 im about to buy. theres a phone holder fixed near to the stearing wheel that hold a mobile phone. it must be linked into the car, has it has plugs in the bottom of it. it looks kind of dated abit, looks like it sets a old long type mobile, if you know anything about them please let me know, even if i can get the model number of the device im sure i could find i mobile to fit, oh is it a good set up and does it work though the sat nav screen

If it's an original Mercedes kit (which it could be) then yes it integrates with the Sat Nav (COMAND), instrument cluster and steering remote. Without seeing a picture we can't know for sure.

If it is the Merc kit it would most likely take a Nokia 6150 / 6210 / 6310 depending upon the age of the car.

However, there is also a strong chance that it's not an original Merc kit in which case it probably doesn't integrate with anything. Can you post a picture of it at all?

hi a-a
thanks for your response, i have only just joined the site, and ime not sure how to load up a picture yet, or if i can has im new. tried to set up a album today and it wouldnt let me, i will wait a while and try again. there is someone on the site with the same type of holder, ile find out which one and get back to you asap.
once again thanks

hi again, crammie has the same, on page four of the albums. the car im about to get has a identical one to his, just in a different place to where his one is.

Just looked at that:

That is a standard Nokia Car Kit (Cark 91) and not the Mercedes one so it wouldn't integrate with the Sat Nav.

There is a bluetooth module available which converts / upgrades this to be used with any Bluetooth phone. I just bought one of these for my brother in law as his Saab also had a Nokia kit fitted.

It looks as though it's made by Triamp who make the Viseeo upgrade kits for the Mercedes kits too (in fact the one we bought was branded Viseoo too!). This convertor only works if it's a Nokia kit, if you have a Mercedes factory phone kit then you either need to use an original Nokia phone or a Viseeo MB Bluetooth module.
