Ive just bought my first merc and it has telephone prewiring in place. I just need to get a cradle for my phone model.

Can anyone tell me if its easy to fit the cradle because if it is i will get one from the likes of ebay and do it myself rather than pay my local dealer £130.

Cheers all.

Very very easy ... cradle just plugs in to the connector that you will find in the location that the phone is stored. Got mine from eBay and saved a packet !

Welcome to the Forum, by the way. :)

Hi, what phone do you have - there are a number of cradles available on Ebay for bargain prices - that is where I got mine ( £60 vs £131 !! )
Don't bother with the dealer - £131 is a rip-off.
Simply slide/click the cradle into the pre-wire socket and slot in the phone and full fuctionality is available on the car - especially if you have Comand !!

The only gotcha when buying cradles from ebay (that I can think of) is that if you have a Nokia 6230i phone. make sure you get the cradle that supports the 6230i - there have been 2 releases, one did up to the 6230 then the next one added the 6230i

On the back of the cradle is a sticker which confirms what phones (and what software versions in the phones) works - so check with the seller

Thanks for the help everyone. I do have a 6230i so I will ensure I get the right cradle.

Once again, cheers.
