It's lower than I'd prefer but the only other Brodit option for these is to the right of the steering wheel and I didn't like that at all.

At the end of the day it's rare I need to actually look at the sat nav, most of the time I go by the voice instructions.

That's a long way to look down if using for sat nav.

Yes, I've got a CD player in the dash. Will search for some of these later. Do you know which brand/model you used to have? I do use the cd player though so would that mean the device has to be removed before changing a CD?

Yes you do need to remove the holder to change CDs but it's easy to do. The brand is 'Infernal Innovations', bought from Amazon.
