Phone not Authorised

Morning,

I have tried to pair my new Google Android phone with the W212 Command system. The phone can see the car and the car can see the phone; however the car will not authorise the phone. I am thinking possibly the phone being too new a version or incompatible Bluetooth variant.

Checked google and completed all the system checks etc, but still will not connect.

Any advice please

It's a long time since I paired a phone to an NTG 4.x head unit and had an issue, but ISTR that I had similar when attempting to pair an iPhone with Angie's SLK55 when we first had the car. I cured it by selecting the Reset option from the COMAND Settings menu and starting the pairing process again. The downside is that you will lose any stored destinations, last destinations, and anything in the Music Register.

That was the first thing I did. There were actually 5 mobiles on it..

Sounds like some sort of Bluetooth incompatibility

I think I may have sorted it. Having to go into the setup menu - H7 disabled all BT options then re-enabled. Nothing worked. Reset the system completely, still no change. Phone sees Car, Car sees phone but not authorised. Then went into Android Apps on the phone, knowing that my Command will not play, however after connecting the phone to the car via USB, the handsfree option springs into life. Phone now paired and works.
