phone & radio

Hello,
recently picked up a s204 c220 and all is ok to an extent.

Have a few queries and will do as individual threads for ease.

I have noticed that for the phone to use the car system, i have to have the radio on even if i do not want it.

I this normal?
anyway i can use phone without radio on all the time? (yes i know i can press mute but this is not acceptable)

for a 'prestige' car it has an awful lot of daft quirks

You might get better answers if you explained why mute is not acceptable for you. This "issue" has been discussed so many times at this forum, please bring something new to the topic.

Apologies if my searching was not sufficient to find previous posts.

In my previous cars never had to have the radio on so the phone would connect, Mazda & VAG.

Seems I will have to accept this and just either not use the bluetooth or press mute.

Why is mute not acceptable - sometimes i do not want the radio on & sometimes i do and when i do i am wanting to listen to the radio.
