Pick up my C63 on Saturday

So excited, more excited than a 42 year old should be.

I pick it up on the morning of my birthday from Dorchester Mercedes, which is nice.

Got an insurance quote from Mercedes insurance, over £3000 p.a. I nearly blacked out, still Endliegh came up trumps with £423.

The car is a Fire opal red 125 edition with pp+, limited slip diff & 19" wheels to name 3 of the options. I will get some pics up as and when I can after Saturday.

Cue more sleepless nights waiting for Saturday morning.

The guy who quoted was very apologetic. He said it is due to a lot of claims with regards to the C63.

I see a bright red C63 coupe drive past work everyday on the black 19" multispoke AMG wheels and it's just stunning and I usually dislike red cars!

Nice one, and it does look well in red. In the dealers yesterday and saw one in white, not a colour I would go for normally, but it looked well. Hope yours give you pleasure in spades.

I have friends down that road. By all means we can compare the 2 63's. I am not sure that on the road there will be too much difference.

Congrats on your new car! Pics please when you can. Blimey 3k quote for insurance from mercedes i am with them and paid £325. Dread to think what the renewal quote will be!

I thought Mercedes insurance was just Aviva, or under written by them? I cant remeber what merc wanted but aviva were £440 for me and didn;t want a tracker fitted.

They're just underwritten by Aviva and for me MB were a fair bit cheaper, with significantly better cover and a lower excess.

The guy at Mercedes insurance explained that the premiums had sky rocketed over the last few weeks.
I live in a nice area, I have full no claims, no points, accidents or convictions.

So I think I can safely say I am relatively a low risk. But there it is, I had heard Mercedes insurance was cheap, but it appears not on a C63 anymore it would seem.
