- 2017 C63S Coupe, 2005 E46 M3, 1988 Audi quattro
Hi guys,
After placing my order in September, I picked up my new Coupe yesterday. When they did the reveal in the showroom I was mega impressed with the looks of the car - and as the salesman had told me before hand, its a magnet because people then start to gather round it.
This is my third C63, all have been in Polar White with black wheels (yeah I know..) - my first was a W204 C63 507 Coupe - which I kept for 2 years and I typically think that is the best car I have owned - the second was a C63S saloon which only lasted about 7 months.
I prefer the Coupes to the Saloon generally as I do not need 4 doors - so when I saw the Coupe early pics and heard that it was wider, had a completely newly developed rear end just for the C63 I felt more of a detachment from the saloon, so it went. Ultimately I just didn't gel with it - obviously still a great car overall.
So initial impressions after 1 day and 100 miles on the Coupe vs my Saloon:
Coupe - for me, it looks better - especially at the rear (obviously subjective)
Not 100% on this as just running in but I do believe it sounds louder than the saloon (both have sports exhaust)
It remembers the last settings - so my sports exhaust is on at next restart if I stopped the car with it on
The ride is much better!! - in comfort mode on the saloon I always felt it was too hard at the rear - initially Coupe feels better - hurrah.
Coupe has Burmeister, saloon didn't - stock stereo in my saloon was very disappointing after harman kardon in my W204 - really pleased with the Burmeister setup
With the saloon I kept looking back at the W204 with misty eyes but not with the Coupe, its what I wanted as the upgrade from W204 and tech wise, interior etc it would be hard to go back.
Lastly, Edition 1 spec on Coupe to me, makes it like my 507 - Alcantara wheel, cool interior, aero touches over standard - bigger rear spoiler, front splitter, different rear diffuser - not sure about side blades but they stick out a lot.
