Hi guys. Just thought I'd share my thoughts of our baby amg. I currently own a w212 e63 and I bought the cla for swmbo.
First of all our car is a pre reg car. Very low miles and we ended up saving nearly 10k off a brand new car. The cars spec is:
Command online
Hk audio
Pano roof
Red calipers
Heated seats
Memory seats

Mods that we've added are:

Armytrix exhaust ( on order)
Red wheels caps
Edition 1 decals
Edition 1 emblem
Amg gear knob
Carbon fibre mirror covers
Custom Carbon skinned oem spoiler ( to be fitted)
Revozsport canards ( on order)

First of all can I say what a great looking car the cla 45 is. We originally wanted to purchase an a45 but with a baby on the way the boot simply wasn't big enough. ( we actually took our pram and put it in the boot of many cars) my wife's previous car was an x6 and with her only being 4ft 11 and 8 months pregnant it had to go.

The car drives surprisingly well. After doing much reading online. I genuinely don't find the ride that harsh. The Spring rate is on the stiff side but rebound and dampening seems to be well set up for our uk roads.
The brakes are fantastic. It has great initial bite and don't seem to fade all that much on the road.
The gearbox is as good as previous dct gearboxes I've had in e92 m3's and it's a massive massive step on from the 7G crapbox in the e63. The only time it's slow on changing is when downshifting to second then jumping back upto 3rd.
The electronic steering is also much better than the one in my E. It's very well weighted and there is genuine feel through the rim. It's not as feel some as hydraulic systems of old but it's definitely a lot better than 2 other cars I've drove with electric steering.
It rained quite heavily today in Newcastle and honestly the E wouldn't have seen where the baby cla would have went. The traction is amazing. Yes I know it's the old haldex system but it's nice knowing my wife won't have issues with traction on a cold autumn day.
The engine is also a peach. It feels good for all 355bhp it's got and I've recently learnt it has a forged engine from standard so I know it can take a lot more. I wish this car had the performance exhaust but Mercedes won't let you just buy the de resonated centre section ( they want 1600 for a new cat back which includes the UN resonated centre) so I've bought the armytrix valved exhaust instead.
The interior quality is ok. The plastics below testy height are slightly low quality but everything above that is very acceptable. Our car has the red accents in the air vents and red seat belts and it's a genuinely nice design. The 7 inch screen is also a great thing to view.

All in all I'm very happy with the cla. To me it seems like a gentlemans evo/scoob. It has a point to point ability that would show up much more expensive cars. Gets a lot of good attention from the general public and I'm thrilled to have it in the stable along with my E63 and Westfield mega blade

Nice!

Superb looking car!!!!
Enjoy!!

and I've recently learnt it has a forged engine from standard so I know it can take a lot more.

I would want to learn more about this.
It's possible it's a forged engine but from what I've read is that it already runs 2bar of boost in stock form. (hence why it prolly is forged)

So not sure there's more to be had in a safe way.

Thanks so far. It's got a forged crank and Pistons. Companies are already running 500+ hp. As standard they run 18 psi of boost. The gearbox of all things is the Achilles heal. First time running Dunlop sport maxx tyres Aswell. Usually my preferred choice is Michelin ps2/pss so it'll be interesting to see how they get on.

Very nice car!

Currently on the search for mine, decided to go for the pre reg also after some help from the forum!

Nice to see someone local too! I'm from Hartlepool.

lovely car, Armytrix will sound mental on that lump...its already full of pops and crackle but armytrix will liven it up even more. Enjoy!

Spoiler collected and I couldn't be happier with it. All the weaves are perfect and it just looks ace. If anyone need any customer carbon work then hit up argon creative. Trial fitted on the car

Lovely looking car, same as mine bar I have an a45! Which company has got that power out of one?

Sorry I do seem to have remembered wrong. Problem with a car addiction that I'm on forums a lot and forget which car it is.

Rebellion with the stage 3 and simon Motorsport are upto 460bhp. Not a lot of money which takes performance there.

One day maybe

Have you got any photos of the interior?

Really nice car. Put a deposit down for mine yesterday.

Does anyone know if you can retrofit the new larger screen?

Best thing I have for a baby is a car with soft suspension. Will be interesting to hear how you get on.

Looks great, I have emailed argon creative about getting my C63 interior trim in carbon :)

Worst case scenario is me and my wife swap cars for the first few months whilst baby is still very young. I'll take some interior shots tomorrow when there is day light.
I genuinely don't know if the newer screen retrofits. There is a slight design issue though. If I put the seat into my driving position I can't see the front pdc lights. Surely someone on the design committee noticed that when they upgraded the screen.

Argon creative are a good bunch. If they don't reply via email give me a shout. They're usually too busy being crazy scientists than replying to emails but I'll give them a nudge.
