Pictures from PCS GTG, 15/5/10

was a nice beemer tho, Steve certainly enjoyed his short drive in it :)

He's been in my S500 once.

Fortunately he was sedate with his right foot and didn't manage to find out the benefits of manual mode until he was a passenger.

:D

They are from a 230 SL. They are painted chrome sillver with polished lips.

I do love that SL. We have lowered it recently. It is fantastic condition and is used everyday./

Are they these? AMG III 18"?

Looks like you guys had a great turnout .... wish I could've been there... :(

I hope next years one happens around this time, as i'll be back for that for sure :)

P.S. I had a testdrive in that same 'crummy' BMW last friday!! I was really underwhelmed by it though! :-)

But it does look fantastic, nice work koolvin.

Great meet. Great cars - all very well presented, and a credit to their owners. Even the B*W. :D

Highlights from the photos? Maff's 'barried' CLK (lol!) obviously, but I love Wobbly's 107 too. And Koolvin's B*W, where the door mirrors look like they stick out further when folded than when in use!

Wish I had been there! I shall resolve here and now to attend if there is a next time.

Thanks for posting some great photos.

Sorry all (Olly) to have missed a great GTG. Unfortunately, i was hoping to get my C55 back Friday from the paintshop with a shiny newly painted frontend and the scratches removed from drivers door thanks to kid who decided to play noughts and crosses with a stone, but alas, the car is still minus front bumper, and because the painter (friend) knows what a fussy git i am wants to take his time so probably wont get car back till late Monday or Tuesday morning (that will be 1 week in paintshop).

Cracking set of car's on show, and the DTM looks rather special do like what's lurking under the bonnet.

Regards.

The 'other' silver SL is a Silver Arrows special edition btw. In the past it has briefly had the old Ceginus (AKA "Evo") wheels off my car on it too :D

Olly was replacing my brake discs, and while the wheels were off Stephen asked if he could try them on his car to see if it fixed a vibration problem he'd got - it did :)

They are from a 230 SL. They are painted chrome sillver with polished lips.

They were optional on the R129 before the R230 appeared. They don't have polished lips - just a dark (too dark IMO) shadow chrome finish.

Thats me bak Ladies...

Big thanks to Olly for sorting out a fab day out. Well worth the trip...nice also to see old and new faces and have a natter.

Cheers Vin for the lend of the car, did enjoy it, but won't say how fast or slow I went :P

Gordon-thanks for the demonstration of the sport 211 and the V6, my neck has recovered from the monstrous acceleration....

Simon (sspeed) Ta for the run in the car and Thursday night :D

Mr Walker-nice try re the pub in Blackpool....

LTD-thanks for having us over for coffee, always a pleasure.

Some pics....

As some of you may know I was on a speed awareness course on the Thursday, this involved me being present in Workington for 9am so a 5am departure. Course itself wasn't too bad, more an advanced driving/work on your observation rather than a patronising put down and a worth while thing, for me anyway.

Took a nosey down to 124 works later on and caught up with Mr Walker, who did have rich tea buscuits but not hob knobs. Went for a pint....he tried to get me to go to some pub inBlackpool which "bats for the other team"...Nice try.

Caught up with Simon and went for dinner and a jolly in his car, good meal and a chat and a tour of the Fylde Coast...plus a blast in a C270 :D

Checked into the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool and took a wonder about....

From Blackpool it was a 6hour drive down to PCS on the Friday am (not after a good fry up mind you). Olly did my Gbox oil change. I do notice a smoothness but I have an occasional judder when the car is cold. This was discussed over a pint and its indicative my torque converter is on the way out, still, the oil change may well sort that....

To the meet itself....

Matts CLK DTM, nice, but would have been nicer if I could have canned it up the A3...I mean it just has to be done...

His are usually so covered in mud (until he just washed it) that he never knew others could see them..:D

Looking at his second photo - how on earth did he get all the furniture in his car and didn't the hotel staff suspect something was afoot?

I have to say its good to see there weren't any pipes or slippers in sight!

This is my first day on the forum and I was a little worried the reputations were correct. I'll cancel my pipe and slipper order.

Some great phots and that DTM is loooooovely

Having both scots and yorkshire blood you might well guess that the hotel room no longer has the bed/towels/linnen and bath. You buy the hotel room, its rude not to take it with you :thumb::thumb:

Great pictures, looks like a great day, some fantastic cars! :D
