Hi.
I seem to have bent the pins whilst trying to fit a new pilot bush on my faithful W202
I was working of a jack and axle stands hence the bloody bent pins,(couldn't see properly) I have taken a photo and noticed between points 2 & 6 there looks like a pin has sheeted of,
Before I get the pins straitened does anyone know for definite if there is a pin missing at that point?
If so how difficult is it (or expensive) is it to have this plug replaced in the gearbox? I can't believe I've been so heavy handed,
I'm so angry with myself, I'm usually really careful with jobs like this!
I would really appreciate any help or advice.
Thanks

To replace the Conductor Plate you can do it DIY. As you've already mentioned your able to get the car onto axle stands so I presume you are quite capable of doing this job. The plate can be bought on eBay for approx £100 +/- . The plate can be removed via the gearbox sump. There are a few write ups explaining the process step by step if you search the US Forums.

Thanks 1 million for the advice I really appreciate it. It's nice to know the car is not going to the breakers!

This would be the perfect time to change your gearbox fluid and filter too as you will need to drain the box to remove the plate.
