Pistonheads market watch!

I like that S212 bi turbo - I think I might buy one of those...

"The even quicker AMG S meanwhile boasts a whopping 585hp whilst the spec and ride quality put the E63 AMG S firmly in the luxury car category."

Yeah baby :thumb:

Good to see they talked to the experts before writing it! It was a good read and made me glad I have an E55 all over again :D

Yep :thumb:

What a W211 goes for is stupid IMO, so cheap for what it is. Why on earth an escort cosworth is 25k and a supercharged V8, E class with air suspension is 8grand is 1 of those mysteries.

I particularly liked this statement in the intro to the article:
the mismatch between the lunacy of the performance - the latest will hit 62mph in less than four seconds - and traditional sobriety of the looks always appealing.
That sums up one of the major attractions of E63 ownership for me :thumb:

A combination of rarity, and rose tinted nostalgia. There's very few cosworths left, because many were stolen and written off, many were crashed by their owners and Ford's woeful build quality put some attrition in on the rest.

While there aren't that many 211's out there either, it isn't sufficiently old enough to have 40-somethings looking at them misty eyed while dreaming of their youth and the car they lusted after.
