So I'm getting my slides digitalised... problem is, I have several large autoloader reels that I don't want to mail.

I'm transferring those slides into spare slide boxes (the ones that slides usually come in when you get them processed), but I'm running out...

I found these:

but at £4 each (+P&P) they are quite expensive...

Has anyone seen anything cheaper around? They don't need to be particularly sturdy, just enough to group slides into smaller containers so the scanning company doesn't mix & match my slides...

Michele

EDIT: while on topic, does anyone know of a fast/cost effective way to scan 10x15 prints? Doing them one at a time will take me a year and a half!

I thought about answering this before but expected someone more knowledgeable than me to answer but as they haven't I will tell you what little I know. I've been through the same exercise and bought a load of boxes off ebay. I also bought individual sheets to put in a ring binder that take transparency strips and others that contain pockets for individual framed transparencies. These are us for the trannies that I am most likely to want to view in future.
As far as I know there is no quick way to scan in photos. I did most of mine when I had time off post op and it was a soothing, zen like activity to patiently go through each photo. When I had finished I heard of a way whereby you just take a photo of your print with the digital camera. It seemed too simple but I tried it and it worked. Problem can be keeping the print flat and getting the right light; no direct sun, no reflections and a flat consistent late. I placed them on the ground in the conservatory before the sun came round and held down the edges with books. It is quick and seems to work perfectly.

I've been keeping an eye on ebay, but no-ones been emptying their lofts lately! I think I'll just cut up some carboard boxes and tape them together... it's for transport only anyhow...

As for scanning, I've started using a flatbed scanned... so slow!! 5 albums a day, at this rate it will take me months!

That's what I have my slides in atm (pretty much). They weight a ton if you need to post 10 or so of those!

This is the sort of thing I'm looking for:

they're basically what come with slides when you get them developed at Jessops (or most developing places)
