Car
W211 320CDI
Hello to you all.

I have been running a W211 E320 CDI Sport, September 07 (57) for the last two and a half years as a chauffeur car. It has covered 186K miles with full history, and is still in lovely condition. I decided recently that it was time to consider a change just to keep up to date (No other reason). To my shock horror I was offered what I think is an insult in terms of part exchange. £6K!
I have looked on the auto trader to try and establish some comparables, but it is really difficult to decide what it is reasonably worth as most have either done a lot less or a lot more miles and in varying conditions.

I feel in my gut that it ought to be worth more than this figure given that it has a wealth of supporting history, all the miles covered on the motorway and is in such good condition. I would really appreciate any thoughts and suggestions to help me decide what to do, as I am not inclined to let it go for such a small amount of money.

Many thanks for any advice, Herbiec

It depends what you were chopping it in against but I don't think that's a derisory offer. Looking at Autotrader there seem to be a few similar to yours for between £7&£8K.

Welcome to the forum.

Have you tried getting a Glass's valuation or similar?

£6k is a good offer, I'd have thought it was worth about £5k in all honesty.

It takes a certain kind of buyer to take on a car with 186k miles and the trader has to take that into account.

And don't take their offer too personal, it's just business...

I think most dealer p/ex values come as a bit of a shock.

Hi,welcome to the forum:thumb:

If you know the history of it, it is running well and you are happy driving it - is it worth hanging on to it and running it into the ground?

Wise words, the greatest cost of car ownership tends to be depreciation, provided the interior is pristine your clients will still get what they perceive they're paying for.
