please help sat nav not activr

Hi guys I have purchased a MB CLA 200d AMG Sport 5dr Tip Auto Estate 2016 plate and the sat nav is not switched on. It comes up saying SD card not present what do i need to do please x

Did it come with the sat nav from new?
Is it Audio 20 ?

If the Garmin Map Pilot SD-Card is inserted in the SD-Card slot in the Audio20 infotainment system, then either the SD-Card or the Audio20 are faulty.

If there is no SD-Card inserted in the SD-Card slot in the Audio20 infotainment system, then the car either never had one, or it did but someone nicked it at some point.

The Garmin Map Pilot navigation software and maps were always an option with the Audio20.

If your car never had this option, then a new Garmin Map Pilot SD-Card from the dealer will cost £499.

If your car had the Garmin Map Pilot option but the original SD-Card went missing, then you can purchase an Update SD-Card with the latest version of the software and maps from the dealer for £99.

There are also Garmin Map Pilot SD-Cards on eBay, they cost around £50 and are most likely fake, they might work in your car, but I have no idea. Some members here reported that the 'eBay Special' cards do work in the main, but the TomTom Live Traffic Data feature didn't work. But ultimately an eBay card will be a bit of hit and miss.

No there no SD card, so can i just buy one and put it in or do i need to pay to get it enabled too? And thanks for the reply

Yes i saw the ebay option wasn't sure if you just put it in and it works or not? Not sure if it needs enabling. How do i find that out? Thanks x

I believe with the Garmin sd card you just put the new card in the slot.

It will then ask if you are sure this is the correct vehicle as it locks the sd card to the vehicle vin once enabled.
