Took a test drive yesterday in the 4h model not the top one but it was missing radar cruise, lane departure and collision warning none of which you need on the school run.
I like smooth driving cars, I hate rev and lurch and this was similar to the lexus GS450 I had a while back, serenely smooth and whisper quiet.
I booted it within normal road conditions and the petrol engine never once started, it was all electric on the motorway and on all other roads, it's a serene way to travel and a C class with this set up would be great.
The car will be for Anna who rarely does over 30 miles as such we think it will save £3k a year in running cost not counting purchase which will be as a company car for her with low BiK
Negative? The infotainment system is 3rd party and a small self contained barely interfaced unit it's very stand alone.
The regen braking is funny in that it can be set to be quite dramatic almost like leaving the handbrake on.
Cost - it's £33k to get £6600 tax back in year one you have to buy it as such it's a £5k deposit and £500 a month opposed to £1200 and £380 for contract hire so the best scenario to have is if your company can pay cash for it or borrow the cash to buy it.
