did you hear the one ,because his mates girlfriend had a tiff with an old man in the asda car park he used the PNC to trace the guys house and went and threw bricks into his window, gave the poor guy a heart attack that killed him.
 
I believe the white blobs on the road are also used by helicopters ... it's the only way they can get a vehicle's speed.

Down here our helicopter is never used for detecting straight forward speeding motorists, they are though regularly used to track the most silly offenders, but these blobs\diamonds are sometimes put on the road for the use of VASCAR.

I don't think they are anywhere in the UK (too expensive). But it's probably still useful for them to be able to get a vehicle's speed from the air, now and again.

I'm sure you might be right, but the timing would have to be done from the ground, (aircrew would not have certified stop watch) plus the chances of the aircraft being in the right place at the wrong time :devil: are slim to none. Good point though and I think some countries may well do this but I dread to think of costs.

A single engine chopper cost £575 per hour plus the crew cost. I have been along many motorways in a chopper, its very interesting watching the antics of some drivers from above.

I believe that the chopper crew have to use the ground boys to do the final bit,, I will find out how they do it in Sweden

Chances are they'd be videoing any pursuit, so it could simply be read from the time coding on that. The aircrew wouldn't need to do a thing.
