Autocar - Police lock up Ferrari California

This article made me wonder whether modern day car reviews have any relevance?

OK, so the Ferrari is a sports car designed to go fast. But how do normal car reviews differ? Car reviews of standard hatchbacks still quote 0-60 times and top speeds. But why bother when this isn't how the car is going to be driven by its target customer. Even a mid-size diesel is now capable of good acceleration and license losing top speed. So is it in fact the cars themselves that are irrelevant to modern day life and the journalist simply highlighting the issue?

Personally I blame everybody else, except myself ;)

People can still dream cant they, even in a peanut powered estate or saloon.
The figures give an estimate of the cars potential to gauge build quality & design in figures we're all used to, even if we cant actually use them in our choked up nanny police state.

I was taken for a drive in one last, it was brilliant. Looks much better up close and in the right colour.
