E320CE x 2, CLK230, E320CDI est, and looking for a late W107 SL 500
Dear All

I have a 1995 320CE with polished alloys. Can anyone help with someone who can refurbish these as the lacquer is coming away in places

Thanks

Hello there, plenty of places will do them, but they do not last at all well, less than 12 months is apparently the norm. The problem is the lacquer chips and water gets behind then making the lacquer flake away and dulling the diamond cut surface. I looked into it for W124 cab and was persuaded not to waste my money.

Agree with CCAALLVVIINN, my mate had his wheels diamond cut and lacquered and within 12 months they were starting to look tatty again.

A lot depends on the type of lacquer used... Wheel lacquer is very different to the stuff used to paint your car.. Its much more robust.

Mine lasted about two years. They have all started to "go" round the tyre valve.

So was the fitter "over enthusiastic" when putting the valves back in. Bugger.
