Poor mpg and possible auto gearbox problems

I'm also planing to get mine remapped in the near future. Who did yours and what map did you go for? I've spoken MSL and they offer a couple of different options.
I like the sound of their full upgrade to 320 spec and mapped to 290bhp but i'd like to get any issues sorted before I get it mapped

MSL did mine and put that very map on, its defiantly the way to go transforms the car. it certainly helped to clean up my sooty tailpipes, I would get them to map out the DPF and EGR at the same time.

I'm going to get it done as soon as I have the time.

Not sure if my car has a DPF I've checked on VIN decoder and there is no mention of a DPF.

EGR delete will definitely be getting done.

Can't wait to have it mapped I know from experience what a difference it make to a car had my old 530d done, it was like a different car

Latest update on poor mpg...

450 mile drive back from Scotland to Herts. Reset mpg at the start and averaged 36.7mpg traffic was light, only a few minutes of slow moving traffic around Manchester and cruised at between 70-80mph.. Really disappointed

Engine temp seems to be running at 88c but does drop a to 86c or 87c every so often is that enough of a drop to give such poor mpg?

Should I look at a 92c thermostat?

Since you seem to be doing decently long runs , why not brim the tank at the start of one run , and again when you arrive - then work out your consumption the old fashioned way .

I'm never entirely sure how accurate these computer figures are , but actual measured consumption will be correct .

You would need to speak to Acid at MSL 01217724455 and tell him what you would require, mine was done with a bunch of other work and just had a total price.
