I think it'll be stroked as well and I guess with a different camshaft. I have read some moans that they need rebuilding at around 100k miles but maybe they are just normally thrashed.
I've seen a bootlid like that before (i mean the styling not the lettering) - i thought that was a Carlsson style bootlid ?
BTW, the steering wheel is not modified - all LHD w124s have the same look, the LHD positioning appears to exaggerate the angle of the wheel. Whether it's optical illusion or actual geometry variance is the question.

I bet that car has had its days and the engine thrashed to an inch of its life. He claims its one of 7 in the UK, but because of the fact that hes let it get into a complete nasty state shows theres something seriously wrong with it for him to just let it sit there and rot away. A car like that, someone would cherish it or atleast keep it in excellent condition given theres only 7 of them!
