Morning all,

My C55 is running poorly with erratic idle and sometimes cutting out completely whilst idling and/or with application of the throttle. Last week it went into limp mode and showed "ESP error - visit workshop". The ECU threw error codes P0102 "Mass or Volume Air Flow A Circuit Low" and P0221 "Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch B Circuit Range/Performance".

This issue has occurred previously. First time it happened I replaced the throttle pedal assembly with a used part, cleared the code and the problem seemed to go away. Second time, I replaced the MAF sensor, again with a used part from a breakers and the issue seemed to be cured for a couple of months. Now it has happened again and I'm at a loss. Could it be a problem with the throttle body?

Cheers

Used parts are of unknown provenance. It could be that either of the used parts you fitted is now itself unserviceable.

It put a genuine or Bosch MAF first with a pair of new air filters. Then re-set all the adaptions and throttle flap.

The used MAF I fitted is Bosch.

The car is in with Paul at MPH Prestige today. He mentioned straight off that it might just need the adaptions resetting. Should I be looking at a new MAF if the reset doesn't solve the issue?

Yes. They are almost a service item on 113's.

As above fit a new Bosch maf.

I’ve fitted a new Bosch MAF and air filters. Is there a way of resetting the adaptations and throttle flap without STAR?

Nope. Some other diagnostic equipment maybe able to.

I bet it runs fine.
