Pop up adverts suddenly appearing

I am still getting them on Chrome cast

Mine has been ad free since the beginning of other members issues with ads.
Just lucky I guess. Win 10 + Chrome + Ad Blocker and Ghostery.

I have ads but more than happy to tolerate them if it means income for the forum, it’s a free service after all and they need money for its upkeep.

Some adverts are acceptable, these pop up adverts which seem to be the same as other adverts on the Forum are very irritating

Seems strange that only some people are seeing these ads, logic says that if it was a forum thing we'd all be seeing them? For clarity, I'm not seeing them on mobile or pc.

It will be dependent on the
browser and other settings.

I’m getting used to ignoring them.

The elephant in the room is where’s the benefit of the things? I’m not noticing what’s in them, and I’m not buying or acting in any way because of them. Another bit of irrelevant internet marketing again.

As per above, i just ignore them, just means that i cannot see the 'accept cookies' click area - so i don't.
Oddly enough i do not get these at work when i log in ...

I don't have them on my laptop running Windows 11 home and Microsoft Edge browser but I do have them on my iPad, popping up along the bottom of the browser window. I don't get them on any other forums just this one, very odd, they only started a couple of weeks ago.

That's not really logical.

We all use diffeent browsers and OS so there are plenty of variables.

From memory all that have or are experiencing this are only doing so on this Forum.

Admin were trying to sort it but I am no IT expert and am unsure if it is possible whilst preserving some of the advertising that generates money to help run the Forum.

I'm still getting them too, across multiple devices. I understand the need for advertising, but I now have them along the bottom and up the right-hand side of the screen. The ads take up far too much screen real estate now.

It’s a right pain on iPad using Safari. Not tried a different browser, but will give that a go…

I was getting them. Today I added "Ghostery" to my Chrome Browser Extensions and the pop ups are no longer there! There are also extentions for Firefox, Opera, Edge and Safari.
