Hi All
Is anybody else getting my problem it happens with I.E or Firefox.

When I go into Ebay and open or close a page I get a Pop-up in the bottom right hand corner (As picture).

I have contacted Ebay and they said they cannot produce the fault so it must be my computer,I have a very good Pop-up blocker and I have also gone into tools and set the Pop-ups security to MAX.

This is only happening when I use Ebay,Any ideas?

Norman

I haven't seen this type of pop-up as a regular Ebay user. Try deleting your browser cookies.

Hi
Thanks for the advice but I did that when I first had the problem but I did it again this morning as a double check with no luck still, I also have a programme called Advanced Un-Installer ( A paid for one not freeby )that clears cookies plus a load of other things

Complete mystery and annoying as I have to keep closing the pop-up to read the page properly, these sort of problems are really annoying when you can't find out what is causing them.

Thanks once again
Norman

ugh :( google toolbar and yahoo toolbar - I never install any of those kinds of programs.

I wonder if you have some form of malware causing the pop ups ?

download Malwarebytes free - Malwarebytes.org and see if it picks anything up on your machine, it will probably find and remove the source of your pop ups.

I bloody give up with this problem.

I use Maxsecure spyware detector 2009 (registered copy) computer is clean with no virus's or spyware Etc.

I have removed Google and Yahoo from my computer completely and it is still doing it.

I always keep a backup copy on a new HDD I have just put it in and tried it and there are no pop-ups although it has Google and Yahoo installed.

So something has got into the original hard drive but it is certaintly hiding well because none of my software can find it.

Looks like a browser add-in - it's not the toolbars
Try disabling all add-ins in Firefox Safe Mode and see if the pop-ups persist

Despite you using Maxsecure it's also worth a purge with Malwarebytes MBAM (the free version) - update it as soon as installed and then run.

If you go to eBay with IE do you get a yellow bar at the top asking you to install an SQL Manager add-in?

Hi
Just sent my scan log to Maxsecure as they requested, it will be interesting what they come up with.
Off out now to a 50th birthday so I might just get drunk, will let you know what happens in case some poor other unfortunate gets the same problem.

you should never stick with a single anti-spyware program, as some will always fins stuff that others will not. Try downloading and installing Spybot Search & Destroy - it's fee and is one of the best. it has an on-access scanner and will pop up a box to confirm every time a program tries to make an change to your registry, startup parameters etc.
