Anyone else been invited to a Boxster driving experience at Silverstone?
http://www.porsche.com/silverstone/en/

I received an invitation through the post today. Suggests that I allow 2.5 hours for the experience, and 1 hour on track.

Sounds like it may be worth half-a-day off work for.

Anyone been yet?

Yes, I went on one at the MIRA test track in Northamptonshire. It was superb.

Took my own Boxster S (but you can borrow theirs if you would rather). Usual ABS brake test section, skid pan (ice-effect tiles), wet circle, handling tests, etc. We were also let loose in a Cayenne. They also did a bit about fitness, reflexes, etc. We also did some public road driving too - car positioning at bends, etc. Wasn't cheap (we stayed in a nice hotel the night before), but was well worth it.

Is this run by Porsche HQ or the Silverstone gargage?

Porsche HQ by the look of it. I got a 24h test drive through the post a couple of years ago too.

You're right MIRA is a superb venue. AMG ran their days there too, prior to MB World opening at Brooklands. Still good, but not as good.

I went to the 997 Gen 2 introduction at Silverstone.

Great fun.

You get to play on the ice hill, the kick plate, and the short fast circuit, and also the slippery circuit.

Plus free food, which is tasty and of good quality.
