I'm not sure what advantage huge ceramic brakes give on a polished concrete floor. The coefficient of friction between ground and tyres is the same regardless of brake construction.

It's the control of the brakes that matter. The ceramic brakes can absorb the energy of a 2.2 tonne car from 100 to 0 with little or no change in the brake friction. Even with ABS, this allows a quicker stop.
It says pre-heated tyres were used, I'll bet that the brakes would have been given the same treatment or had residual heat from a test run.
